Since its beginning, Khem has supported over twenty ventures, in a virtual manner. Some of them are totally original and others are spin-offs of companies that already exist.
Pando Technology Pole (IPTP) was created from the establishment of research laboratories in the Faculty of Chemistry in Pando, aiming at offering R+D services to the industry and supporting innovation development within it. It has over 40 professional researchers, postgraduate students and eight research platforms. Khem incubator arose as part of such project to support students, faculty members, researchers and companies in the creation of new companies and/or spin-offs.
With the support of organizations and programs like FINTEC, GTZ (Germany), UNDP, Fondo Emprender (IDB-NRIA) Khem incubator evaluated over one hundred projects, provided over 40 projects with technical advice and entrepreneurial training and participated in the creation of over ten enterprises, in a virtual manner and in collaboration with PTP and Faculty of Chemistry.
Pando Science and Technology Park (PCTP, in Spanish) was created to articulate and accelerate knowledge and technology transference between scientific and entrepreneurial sectors. A publicly owned company governed by private law, managed by professionals, PCTP is a place for business development which offers companies high-quality space and facilities.
Polo Tecnológico de Pando was restructured as “Instituto Polo Tecnológico de Pando” IPTP, through the processes of:
Entrepreneurial joint ventures, R + D joint ventures and academic joint ventures; Khem is reactivated within entrepreneurial joint ventures from a virtual incubation to a physical one by acquiring 400m2 IPTP facility for laboratories exclusively for business incubation.
